Behind the Blessed Collection

As children of God, we are blessed. This does not mean that we have a perfect life, that we never encounter difficulties, or that we have everything we desire. Being blessed also means recognizing the good things we have in our lives and not forgetting where they come from.

That is what I wanted to express through the Blessed design.

We sometimes tend to look at what we are missing, what we are still waiting for, or what we would like to have, to the point of forgetting what we already have. Yet, there are things we consider ordinary that we would benefit from taking the time to appreciate: the grace of seeing a new day, having clothes to wear, something to eat, a person who loves us, a door opening, a prayer answered, or simply the grace of still being here.

The Bible reminds us: "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits!" (Psalm 103:2). This verse invites us to remember what God has done, instead of focusing only on what we are still waiting for from Him. Being blessed does not mean that everything is always going well, either. We can be blessed and still go through difficult times. We can be grateful while still having prayers pending. We can trust God without always understanding what we are going through.

Difficulties do not erase the good things we have received. They are part of our journey, but they do not represent everything our life contains. Even when things do not go as we would have wished, we can take a moment to remind ourselves of what God has already done.

James 1:17 reminds us that "every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights...". For me, this connects to the idea behind this design: recognizing the good things we receive and being grateful to God for His benefits.

Even if Blessed is inspired by my faith, I believe this message can speak to everyone. It is not necessary for an individual to share my convictions to take the time to recognize the good things present in their life. For someone who shares my faith, this word can be a reminder of God's goodness. For another, it can simply express their gratitude for what they have received.

Ultimately, that is what I wanted to convey with this design: a reminder not to take good things for granted, to know how to recognize them, and to remain grateful, even when everything does not go as planned.

Blessed does not mean saying that everything is perfect. It is acknowledging what we have received, appreciating what is already there, and not forgetting the blessings that are already part of our life.
